Client
Qube Holdings
Location
Sydney, NSW
Project Description
Stage 1 of the Intermodal Project transformed a greenfield site into the foundation of a state of-the-art freight terminal, providing critical infrastructure to support future freight growth and operational efficiency.
ASI was responsible for the supply of signalling equipment, location fit-out and site wiring, installation, testing, and commissioning of the signalling system, including integration with the existing ARTC and Sydney Trains networks.
Scope
The project required detailed planning and coordination of complex signalling modifications to facilitate the introduction of new terminal infrastructure while maintaining safe and reliable rail operations. The scope included installation of signalling equipment, cable service routes, power supplies, location case wiring, interface testing, system integration, and commissioning activities within a live operational railway environment.
In addition to the signalling works, ASI's civil construction teams installed new equipment foundations, location bases, and cable service route (CSR) infrastructure to support the new signalling assets. These works were delivered in parallel with the signalling installation, ensuring efficient project delivery and seamless integration of civil and signalling disciplines.
ASI successfully interfaced with third parties, possession planning, testing, commissioning, and handback activities to ensure seamless integration of the new infrastructure with the existing ARTC and Sydney Trains signalling networks, delivering a safe, reliable, and operational outcome for the client.
